While stripping a dogs coat is best left to the professionals, with a bit of practice you can achieve a good look on your dog for a fraction of the cost.
Stripping is generally done on terriers to tidy up their appearance and remove some of that longer, wirey coat and dead undercoat. Although called a knife, and this product does have a sharp knife edge when new, the stripping does not generally use the knife edge. Instead, you use your thumb against the edge of the comb to help remove the coat, working in the direction that the fur lays.
